Baars, Trends in Cognitive Science, 61, jan. 2002

Notes:

Apart from these global arguments there are more intrinsic empiricial arguments. In a recent review of some 14 experimental paradigms where conscious processing was compared with non-conscious processing Baars concludes that in all cases the major difference is the connections between different brain regions which is much larger in the case of conscious processing.
This adds empirical weight to the sbjective experience of a unified conscious experience.
