Then it ocurred to me that this presentiment paradigm was almost identical to most procedures used in the physiological studies of emotion and that the effect if real should also be present in normal mainstream experiments.
The procedure in mainstream research is as follows:
1. Measure some baseline level of the physiological variable of interest
2. Present an emotional event, very often a picture.
3. Measure the resulting value of the physiology after the event.
